Where Grace Grows
Where Grace Grows
18" x 24"
Caran d’Ache Neopastel II (water-soluble wax pastels)
Original, unframed
This piece was inspired by a quiet moment, a walk with my family on Christmas Day. I came across this plant, delicate yet vibrant, something that could have easily been passed by without a second glance.
Later, I learned it is called Heavenly Bamboo, a plant that symbolizes protection, renewal, and the quiet turning of hardship into blessing. In some traditions, it is even seen as a place to leave your worries, to be carried away.
Created with Caran d’Ache Neopastel II, the colours in this piece feel alive, soft yet bold, layered with movement and depth, echoing the gentle unfolding of grace.
This work sits deeply within my exploration of the sacred ordinary, the belief that heaven meets us not in grand moments, but in the quiet, everyday ones.
Grace does not always arrive loudly.
Sometimes it grows slowly,
in stillness,
in softness,
in the unnoticed corners of our lives.
This painting is an invitation to pause, to notice, and to remember that even in uncertainty, something beautiful is still growing.
